Today was the first day of our internship at the Surinamese embassy here in Indonesia. Because of several intern reasons, it was very calm at the embassy. There were, next to us, only three people present. As you can guess there wasn't that much work to do, so we were given the task to write a little article about the current relationship between Surinam and Indonesia and the role the embassy plays in it. However, we were stupid enough to forget to bring our laptops so we just improvised with old school pen and paper. We'll copy it tomorrow. It was quite fun since we just chatted with each other and wrote a little bit and before we even knew, our first day was already over. At 5 'o clock we took the taxi and went home.
We ate dinner quickly because we had to go to Ihsaan's and Zaeem's taekwondo training. Unfortunately we never arrived at the training because of the disastrous traffic. There are constructions at the moment so the traffic jam was even worse (didn't know that was even possible) than "normal". The distance of 5 km took us literally 2 (!) hours. T W O hours omg! It was horrible. Halfway we turned back around because there was no way we could possibly make it on time. By the time we got home I still did some taekwondo exercises at home, ate a little and I'm now about to go to sleep because even though we weren't that productive today, I sure am tired..
Love,
Elysa
